Well, we've been here in the USA for just over a week now. I'm not sure there's much to write about that would be of interest, so instead I'll post a few photos we've taken over the past few days.
I'll be back with a real update and possibly a few more photos in the coming week. Maybe.

| Our first meal in the US. The only half-way decent barbecue place in New England. Worth the gluttony. |

That plate... Is it just for ONE person only?!?! It's ENORMOUS! Hello calaories!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Olli...I looked at it and I was shocked!!! Such a HUGE serving! But then again my friend who also lives in the USA said over and over again how small the serving sizes here are compared to the ones over there (and that prices there are cheaper as well).
ReplyDeleteLOVE all the photos, though. :-D You two are gifted in taking pics and making them look like artwork! :-D
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
Amel, Rami recently got a new camera, and we've been playing with it almost nonstop! Thanks you. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's funny: a couple of questions that I get fairly commonly from Europeans are: 1) "Are the portion sizes huge in America?" and 2) "Why aren't you fat?"
Fortunately, that plate provided me with three meals rather than just one. I took it home and, I'm happy to report, it was even better the next day. When you eat three meals worth of food at once...well, that's how obesity epidemics are born.
Now, to be fair, our portion sizes are not usually quite THAT huge. They're particularly plentiful at this hole-in-the-wall. I'm not sure if they're that large in the south, where this type of food is more common. Still, receiving a mountain of food about that size when you sit down to dinner isn't unheard of...:)
Hope you enjoyed your time back home!
ReplyDeleteGreat artistic shots! Sorry our paths haven't crossed..I assume you'll be returning soon..Happy New Year and lots of love to you both.
ReplyDeleteIs that a sponge you're eating there?
